They know that property values almost always increase, so it’s like a bank, except that people actually need space to live in! Add to the fact that many of the poor now live with parents, or are homeless, or living in groups to survive and you have a very nasty situation. There are solutions, but they require money and a government that actually gives a crap about poor people.
